Acceptable use policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy is part of the terms of service between StackTether and its customers. It applies to every user of StackTether and to every AI app connected through it.
Use StackTether only for your own business
- Connect only vendor systems your business is allowed to access, with API credentials it is allowed to use.
- Use the data you reach through StackTether only for your legitimate work for your business and its clients.
- Follow the terms of each vendor you connect and each AI app you use, including their API limits.
Do not
- Share accounts, sign-in details or authenticator devices, or let anyone use StackTether under another person's account.
- Try to reach another customer's data, get around tenant isolation, access controls, two-factor authentication, call limits, the unusual-activity guard or any other safeguard.
- Probe, scan or test StackTether for vulnerabilities without our written permission. Security research is welcome by arrangement; see "Reporting" below.
- Overload the Service or a vendor's API, for example with automated scripts that run calls in a loop, or try to cause outages.
- Use StackTether to collect data about people for purposes unrelated to your work, such as profiling, surveillance, marketing lists or reselling data.
- Connect systems that hold data you may not send to an AI app, or that require a HIPAA business associate agreement with us.
- Use StackTether or AI output to break the law, infringe others' rights, harass anyone, or create malware or spam.
- Copy, resell, frame or reverse-engineer the Service, or build a competing product from it, except where the law allows.
- Remove or hide anything in StackTether's answers that marks vendor text as data rather than instructions.
AI apps and automated agents
- AI apps act for the user who approved them. That user and their business are responsible for what the AI app does through StackTether.
- Allow only AI apps your business has reviewed, and disconnect any you no longer use.
- Check AI output before relying on it. Vendor data can contain text written by anyone, including text that tries to give instructions to an AI.
What we may do
To protect customers, vendors and the Service, we may slow down, pause or suspend a user, an AI connection or a business that breaks this policy or puts others at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell the business's admins first and give them a chance to fix the problem.
Reporting
To report a security issue or a breach of this policy, use our contact form and choose "Security report". Please do not include real client data, passwords or API keys in your message.
